Nursery: During the 10:30 am service, children ages infant through 5 years are invited to stay in the nursery. Parents are encouraged to pick up their children from the nursery during the Peace so that the family can share the Eucharist together. While young children are welcome during the entire service, the nursery offers space for little ones to play and express their energy so that their parents may enjoy an opportunity for quiet reflection.
Children and Youth: There is not currently any staff dedicated to Children and Youth and this is an area where parishioners hope to see growth after the establishment of our new Priest. The youth of St.Mark’s currently are most involved in Acolyte opportunities and special youth events which are held throughout the year, especially in the summer and around holidays.
Special Events: Special services and events that involve children and youth are offered during the church year such as: Outdoor services, Shrove Tuesday service, Ash Wednesday services, weekly lenten lessons, Easter Egg Hunt, Blessing of the Animals, Advent wreath workshops, a visit from St. Nicholas, The Christmas Pageant, Vacation Bible School, and several others.
Acolytes: Acolyting is an important role in the leading of the worship service and one in which many of the children and youth of St.Mark's are involved.
Confirmation Classes: As need and desire arise, classes are offered to educate and assist with those who are interested in being confirmed in the Episcopal church.
